Friends, many of you have messaged me asking for more information about why I keep sharing so much about Advancement Courses, and I’m thrilled to tell you that I am a part of Advancement Courses teACh Team!

The teACh Team consists of three rock-star educators (and me!) who have been working with the awesome team at Advancement Courses for the past year. We connect regularly to talk about issues relevant to busy educators, and each of us can speak to the fact that the professional development options that Advancement Courses offers is top-notch.

teACh Team Kick-Off

Advancement Courses teACh Team introduction

Here’s the Facebook Live we did to officially kick off our involvement on the team.

We talked about how to use the right mindset in order to balance all of the responsibilities of being an educator. It’s a must-see! We had an absolute blast.

Catch the teACh Team’s Next Event

We have a super busy summer planned, friends.

Yes, we know that summertime is ideal for educators to get a little well-deserved R & R, and we want you to rest, relax, and get rejuvenated, but we also know that these few months before the new school year begins is the ideal time to sneak in some professional development.

Here’s what we have planned that you do not want to miss:

  • July 10: [Amy takes over the Advancement Courses Instagram feed] Follow along for a behind-the-scenes look at what busy teachers do on their summer break, and get a first-hand look at the 2-credit course that Amy is taking.
  • July 15: [Kayla and Amy will be on Instagram LIVE at 8pm ET] We will be chatting about how teachers can make the most of their summer break and we will kick off an awesome Instagram giveaway–you must join us to learn more!)
  • July 17: [Kayse and Amy will be LIVE on Kayse’s Podcast at noon ET] We will be talking about self-care for teachers.
  • July 22: [Todd and Amy will be LIVE on Facebook at 7pm ET] We’ll be chatting about the 1- and 2- credit Advancement Courses that they took.

Meet the Advancement Courses teACh Team:

Kayla Dornfeld (formerly Kayla Delzer) of Top Dog Teaching

Kayla Delzer is the 2019 North Dakota Teacher of the Year, as well as a two-time (2017 and 2018) Global Hundred honoree, recognizing her as 1 of the top 100 innovative educators in the world. The New York Times named her “one of the tech-savviest teachers in the United States”. She has eleven years of teaching experience in second and third grade. Kayla holds her masterโ€™s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Dakota. In September 2018, she received the University of North Dakota Sioux Award, the highest honor of achievement offered by her University. Her work with classroom redesign and flexible seating has become the standard worldwide. She is currently writing a book about classroom learning spaces and flexible seating, titled FlexED: Flexible Seating for Flexible Learners, set to release in 2019. She is also a co-author of the best-selling book Education Write Now, published in December 2017.

Kayse Morris of KayseMorris.com

Kayse Morris is a former English and Language Arts teacher that now specializes in helping teachers transition from the classroom to online marketers by selling their teaching resources online. Sheโ€™s been featured on Amazon LIVE, Georgia Public Television, and Sirius XM radio. She speaks to teachers all over the world and inspires them to start living again by turning their passion into purpose. She is passionate about helping teachers live a life they love and make the income they’ve always dreamed of.

Kayse is married to a man who stole her heart at a pizza shop while she was waiting tables. That man is now a High School Principal, and they have four wild and crazy boys. She’s an avid concert goer and has seen her favorite band perform nearly 75 times. Her heart belongs to southern rock and jam-bands including Widespread Panic, The Allman Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and many more. She loves to be outside and try to hike at her local State Park as often as possible.

Todd Nesloney is now the Director of Culture and Strategic Leadership at the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). He is an award winning author for his work in co-authoring Kids Deserve It! and Sparks in the Dark. With great sadness, I'm writing to share that my brother-in-law, Jeff Mascott passed away from pancreatic cancer earlier this week--at home, surrounded by family and friends.

The family is very grateful for the community's immeasurable help, encouragement, and prayers over the past several months since Jeff's diagnosis.

Jeff's obituary will run this weekend in the Post:

Today marks the 4th time in 3 weeks that I have had to hang new Kindness Reminders Tear-off Sheets!

Makes my heart ๐Ÿฅฐ!!

Some kids come by every day and give one to a new person. Others take a bunch for the week. One 2nd grade girl comes by evey morning to tell me who she gave hers to the day before.

Every little bit helps, friend. And every interaction matters!
