I just bookmarked this to re-read in detail later. SO many wonderful suggestions. Thank you so much for the time you take to share these. From one mom a few years behind you in the process, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate that.
    Thank you,
    Gwen

Gwen! You are SO kind for writing this to me–I truly, truly appreciate it. And from one mom who totally leans on advice from ‘seasoned’ moms to another, I’d be LOST without this kind of help–and most of it has been passed on to me by others much more wise than I!

My youngest starts kindergaten this fall too – (wow where does the time go?) I love the list so I can kind of review a lot of it. We are still working on tying those shoes! But as for our address and phone number last year at our pool at home , the boys preteneded to be a car and have an accident or a breakdown. They would then call the tow truck (me), but before I could go help them they had to tell me their location (our address) and a phone number where I could call them back in case I got lost. My older son was learning my cell number while my youngest was learning our house number and address. We have also used this once in a while when I play matchbox cars with them and I get to have the tow truck. but just a fun way for them to learn their address and phone number and I’m sure it can easily be tyed into “Cars” pretend too!

Robin! So smart!! You’re totally ahead of us over here then–if your kiddos know their address already–and such a fun way of learning it. I bet they loved it–and the Cars/ Cars 2 idea is super. thanks for writing, my friend!!

Great job Amy! I love that picture of the name books. It might even be fun to have your son write or dictate small stories in his journal daily!
