There’s going to be a lot going on over here this summer.

We’ve got a rockin summertime learning eBook ready for the presses at the end of this week, free to all members of we teach. It’s packed full of awesome ways that every parent can sneak in a little bit of learning in their children’s summer days.ย  Meaningful, creative activities will inspire you to get your kids involved in fun and focused play.

We’ve also got an incredible campaign in the works with two other talented professional educators and power bloggers called the Smart Summer Challenge. We’re gearing up for it now, solidifying sponsors and lining up prizes for participants–and we’ll have everything you need to keep your kids on the learning path through the bulk of the summer.ย  We’re talking free calendars of fun activities and celebrating learning through crafts, trips, play, and games. Stay tuned.

The Smart Summer Challenge–fun and easy ways for all parents to sneak in summertime learning for their kids, keeping kids engaged, excited, and interested in learning and avoiding the summer learning slump!

We’re lining up some awesome weekend getaways with family and friends. Cool spots that are close enough and offer a ton for families.

We’re packing our pool bags (tomorrow) for the Memorial Day festivities and pool opening this weekend.

Yes, we’ve got a busy summer planned, but there’s one thing I’m not going to be worried about this year, and that is my bathing suit.

Or how I look in it.

That’s because I’ll be rockin a Lands’ End suit for the fourth year in a row. These are suits I love, suits that can handle hanging out at the baby pool without getting all crazy, full of pulls and tears, suits that don’t fall down when you’ve got two kids in your arms and your eyes on the other one over at the diving well.

These are suits that are well-made, that cover the areas I am not so confident about without making me feel like I’m an old and frumpy mom of three in my mid-30’s.

These are suits made by a company whose customer service team is made up of real, live human beings who are kind! who know what they’re talking about! who can help you find the suit you want or size you need or information you are looking for.

These are suits that totally make me happy and relaxed so I can have fun with the kids and my friends and not worry about everything that women worry about in their suits.ย  This year, I’m wearing a suit from the new Carmel collection–the tankini top and bikini bottom–and I love it.

These are suits made by company that is celebrating women of all shapes and sizes this week, in National Swimsuit Confidence Week. Lands’ End wants women to embrace their swimsuit beauty and have fun this summer.

And if you hit the Lands’ End site now, you can even score $20 off of a $75 purchase. (Use promo code SAVE20 pin #1155. Discount ends 05/31/11; see site for details.)ย  OR, just hang around Twitter this week and do a little tweeting to win a suit of your very own. . .

Join Landsโ€™ End to Celebrate National Swimsuit Confidence Week! YOU can be swimsuit confident, too!

Join Landsโ€™ End each day May 23 โ€“ 27, 2011 from 12:00 โ€“ 1:00 p.m. CDST and participate in a series of National Swimsuit Confidence Week events on Twitter. ย ย The weeklong movement was created to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes as well as educate and inspire them to embrace their swimsuit beauty and have fun this summer. ย Each day Landsโ€™ End will give away 10 Landsโ€™ End Swimsuits, 10 Landsโ€™ End Beach Towels and announce exclusive swimsuit promotions!

Date: Each Day โ€“ May 23 โ€“ 27, 2011

Time: 12:00 p.m. โ€“ 1:00 p.m. CDST

Location: #landsend

fyi: I am a blogger for the Land’s End Swimsuit Confidence Campaign, and I was given my suit by my friends at Lands’ End so I can have a bathing suit confident summer! My opinions here are all my own.

Look at you all gorgeous in your suit! I’m just looking forward to the day when I won’t need a maternity suit anymore!

      thanks, Candace.
Feeling good in a suit at the neighborhood pool is one thing; posting it on your blog is another–makes me nervous, for sure.

You won’t need a maternity suit much longer, friend–hang in there!

Hey Hot Mama! You look fantastic in your suit. Well, after like 6 years of wearing a maternity suit every summer I just took the plunge and bought a new (non maternity) suit! Just an FYI, the coupon code is for 20 off 75. I guess the 25% off code just expired. Anyway, thanks for the tip!

My favorite little spot to lay out the mat = โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿงœ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Use an emoji to tell me yours.

remember: it doesnโ€™t matter what you do as long as you move your body in some way each day. Total game changer. Promise.

For me, walking the ๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบ๐Ÿถ and ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธare daily non-negotiables for my physical AND mental health.

I do the @melissawoodhealth videos each day, and her upbeat, casual attitude, variety of low-impact strengthening workouts, and reminders to just keep coming back are key.

This book is SO different from any other I have read in the recent past, and itโ€™s something that is both refreshing and hopeful.

My friend @techninjatodd wanted to put out a book that would be a source of hope, a reminder that we are not alone. A testament to the fact that every season of life matters.

And so, In This Season: Words From the Heart was born, with help from the amazing @apron_education @allylee21 @writtentospeak @omar2764

โ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธ

Life is full of seasons.

Each of us has endured the cold of winter, the growth of spring, the light of summer, and the change of fall. Weโ€™ve climbed to the mountaintops and been deep in the valley.

In This Season: Words for the Heart takes the emotions we feel deep within and puts them into words. The pages of this book invite you to reflect and lean in as you continue through season after season.

๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ

Check this book out, friends. It is worth your time, and it is the perfect book for busy educators to pick up, read a few pages over a quick cup of coffee before the day begins or as you kick up your feet at the end of the day.

It feels like a quiet conversation with a close friend or dear colleague. Important topics are touched on which remind us that our feelings and thoughts and insecurities are often not as unusual as we may think. Rather, these ups and downs of life are a shared experience that couldโ€”and should!โ€”be shared more frequently and openly. The reminder that we are not alone could not come at a more pivotal time for all of us; in the past two years, we have been reminded that life is short but that seasons change. Letโ€™s make the most of what we have!

Thank you, Todd, LaNesha, Tanner, and Alice for starting this conversation.
