This year, I’m thrilled to be partnering with Advancement Courses, courses designed to be more engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable– with real feedback and application in today’s K-12 classroom.

Continuing education can be one of the biggest challenges for us as teachers today.

I feel like I’m always asking:

Where are all the relevant, meaningful courses?ย

Where are all the courses approved by my school and the state?

Where is the professional development that fits my schedule?ย

Where is the continuing ed that I can afford to pay–on top of everything else I buy as a teacher?

Where are the courses that fit my insanely busy schedule?ย

Finding professional development courses that work can be sometimes be ridiculously difficult.

I remember at one time, the “best” courses were something I heard about from a friend of a friend’s colleague’s cousin’s sister. Whispered to me at the pool one summer.

At that time, finding the best professional development courses was like hunting for a buried treasure.ย And only a few lucky people had the map.

As educators, we need to make sure our teaching certificates stay valid and that we stay on top of the latest research in our field. But it’s not easy with all the demands that teachers face these days.

Online PD for Teachers — Advancement Coursesย

That’s why I’m thrilled to have partnered with Advancement Courses this year and to shed some light on graduate-level, continuing education courses for K-12 teachers with re-certification, state licensure, salary schedule or other professional development needs.

Advancement Courses offers:

  • overย 240 graduate-level courses in 19 different subject areasย for salary advancement and re-certification;
  • graduate credit courses throughย 9ย CAEP- and regionally-accredited university partners so they count in every state;
  • letter grades and a transcript directly from the partner institution upon successful course completion;
  • all courses are online and self-paced so you can begin any time (as long as theyโ€™re completed within 6 months);
  • 1, 2 and 3 graduate credit courses available

Discount for YOU!

For my followers, they are offering an exclusive coupon for 20% off if you enter the code TEACHMAMA20 at checkout.

I’ll be working with several of the best of the best educational influencers to shed some light on why we totally turn to Advancement Courses for our own professional development and continuing education.

Stay tuned for a whole lot of coolness from:

  • Kayla Delzer, of Top Dog Teaching
  • Mr. Greg, of Kindergarten Smorgasboard
  • Todd Nesloney, Tech Ninja Todd
  • and more!

And in the next few weeks, Iโ€™ll be chatting LIVE online to share even more about continuing education! Be sure to join us!

What questions do you have? I’d love to do what I can to help!

    Awesome! I am looking for courses to take for recertification credits. I have obe question, it says they are at your own pace. Can the classes be started at any time, or do you need to start at the beginning of a semester schedule?

    How rigorous or involved are the courses? I’ like to take several at one time but I’m not sure how much time I need to devote to each class.

      The courses are challenging but manageable. And the information you learn (or that I learned in my courses, at least!) can be immediately applied to the classroom.

    THIS IS SO HELPFUL. COULD IT BE POSSIBLE FOR A COURSE TO BE COMPLETED IN TWO MONTHS? (NOT SURE WHY UPPERCASE LETTERS ARE NOT WORKING) : )

Super easy, homemade dog treats!

Kids can helpโ€”they love the scraping into molds part!

Recipe below:

ingredients
1 egg
1 12.5 oz can chicken
1/4 cup chickpea (or tapioca) flour
1/4 cup whole wheat flour

instructions
1. preheat oven to 350โ€ข

2. add all ingredients to blender and mix on high

3. pour into silicon molds

4. bake 10 min then switch trays to opposite oven racksโ€”our racks cannot fit two trays). bake for another 10-12 min or until treats pop easily out of molds.

5. let cool on tray so they get a little more crispy.

Hello, Teacher Wish List.

You are welcome here. In fact, we are incredibly glad that youโ€™ve made your way into our culture.

Youโ€™re like the Wedding Registry or Baby Registryโ€“but better.

You are a dream because you are the list that gives and gives and gives. Youโ€™re not full of weird kitchen appliances or ugly China patterns or tiny baby Air Jordans. You are made of books, pens, pencils, journals, math manipulatives, bulletin board letters, lab goggles, staplers, and hole punchers.

You are helping to equip and educate the youth of the world and are taking a tiny bit of stress off of the shoulders of our educators. And we all know that our educatorsโ€“especially in the last few yearsโ€“have been stretched to the absolute max. They are tired, worn down, and stepped on. Theyโ€™re pushed and pulled every which way and are expected to do the job of 27 different people.

What an amazing thing you are, you little Classroom Wish List! Just a simple Amazon Wish List, you let us all feel like we are helping in a teeny way, and we thank you.

We hope you never, ever leave and that youโ€™re here to stay.

Sincerely,

Everyone
